The first product in the range is the standard DVU. The unit has an input for an external trigger device - such as a proximity switch. When the switch is triggered the unit plays out a previously recorded voice message through an internal speaker. The unit is programmed using a microphone and "dongle"*. These are plugged into the side of the unit. The unit is powered by a separate mains adaptor.

 

All DVU’s are supplied with Microphone, Power Supply and Dongle. Proximity switches and triggering devices are extra.

 

* For those not conversant with a “dongle” it is a small pluggable connection device that allows the unit into which it is plugged to operate in a special way. In the case of the Standard DVU it consists of a push-button switch that is operated to configure it into RECORD mode. So the dongle is connected and the switch is operated for it to start recording.
