The third product is the PIR DVU. This unit is triggered by an infra red signature being detected by a standard security PIR (Passiv Infra Red) detector, mounted on the front of the unit. When the unit detects (a person) the internal message is played out from an internal speaker.

Such messages may be "Warning you are in a secure surveillance area, please leave” immediately" for a security application or "Welcome to EPS, please go up the stairs to the left to our reception area, thank you" for an office application.

The unit is programmed using a microphone and "dongle". These are plugged into the side of the unit. The unit is powered by a separate mains adaptor.

 

This unit can drive a powerful external loudspeaker for annunciation applications such as "Warning this caravan park is protected by an automatic security system, the system knows you are there and the police may be informed"
