A 12V solar battery charger

Ideal for a car or bike that is not used very often. Performence measured in bright sunshine Open Circuit Voltage >22Volts, Short Circuit Current >70mA. In other words will charge anything with terminal voltage less than 22 Volts. Supplied with a 3 metre detachable lead with 40cms of lead extending out of the panel housing. Solar panel mounted in a stylish weathproof plastic casing in black with fixing holes. Lead terminated in a cigarette lighter plug with an integral LED indicator flashing to indicate charge voltage available. The units dimensions are approximately 37.5cms long by 16.5cms wide.

Great for putting on dashboard of car/caravan/truck/boat/tent/ to supplement power to battery. Or can be used to charge rechargeable batteries.

Or for a motorbike just put the solar cell on top of your garage facing south (if possible) and run the lead into the garage. Attach to the bike (or car) battery using the adaptor (sold separately see below) with crocodile clips

A cigar lighter adaptor is available (pictured) to terminate the contacts with crocodile clips so that the power may be applied to anything.

Q: Can this charger be used to charge a leisure battery during the day for a motor home while the motor home is on a camp site, without putting it into the cigarette lighter and therefore running the engine battery down?

A: Yes the charger can be used to charge a leisure battery during the day. Note though, that, the unit will not run your battery down during the night as it contains a blocking diode that stops flow of current back into it when the voltage of the battery is greater than the charger. This also applies if it is plugged into the cigarette lighter socket.

There is an add-on to this device that we supply depicted on the left. This is the cigarette lighter adaptor to allow you to connect the solar charger using crocodile clips.
